GARDENING TREND: SPONTANEOUS AT THE EDGE OF WILD

"The garden of tomorrow will be the one where the hierarchy of man is abandoned on nature", said landscape architect Gilles Clément, who sees in the gardener (he defines himself as such) a master at work "with" nature and not "against” it.

Never intrusive, but able to enhance trees and plants, supporting their innate self-regulation skills.

The contemporary gardening pays more attention to the respect of the friche, or rather to the uncultivated, than to the sculptural form of a hedge or a rose garden (an idea decidedly passé in the sector).

Parallel theories are also followed by Piet Oudolf, a garden designer who, among the many projects, took care of the green of the extraordinary High Line of New York: 2.3 km where they lived together and found their own space 210 different species of local plants, mostly perennial, many of which sprout among the old preserved rails along the elevated path.

Gardening today does not upset, but pays homage to the diversity of what exists on the planet, does not rage but leave the green to its natural predisposition: that of being disordered and often wild.

This trend includes the informality of Baxter's outdoor collections, that are always presented with a green at the edge of the wild. This was the case in Paris for Maison et Objet and in the courtyard of Palazzo Bovara in Milan at the Salone del Mobile 2018, on the occasion of the Onlife Millennials at Home exhibition organized by Elle Decor.

The Baxter furniture is placed in this contemporary mood, where nature is the absolute protagonist and man is called to enjoy the immersive show.
